Retirement message from Kathy and Dave

For 23 years we have welcomed you to this “Little Piece of Heaven on the shores of Green Lake”. Many of you have visited several times each year and have become more like family than guests.  We’ve loved every one of those special moments we’ve shared together with all of you.  We want to thank you for making this journey so special for us during our time as Innkeepers.  But we are also tremendously excited to announce that as we are moving on to life’s next chapter, the Angel Inn is also transitioning to a new generation of Owners/Innkeepers who are looking forward to making your stay just as relaxing and memorable as we have always tried to do.  Matt & Karen Rogatz, along with Marc Patsiner have a tremendous vision to transform the Angel Inn into a destination that will continue to warm your hearts and lure you back to this special place year after year.  We will still be living in town and plan to stop by to say hi to all of our good friends as often as possible.

With Much Love and Appreciation,

Kathy & Dave

Fireworks On The Lake

What a glorious last couple of days in Green Lake. We had terrific weather during the day with highs of 75-82 degrees, and cool refreshing nights with the temps dipping into the low 50’s.  We like to call it “Chamber of Commerce weather – because there is no better ambassador for Green Lake!”  We were also treated to a “Full Buck Moon” (named for the time of year when deer get their horns), and a Hot Air Balloon ride that seemed to nearly graze the rooftop as it skimmed by.  Check out the pictures below.  Tonight our guests will be treated to front row seats for Green Lake’s Firework Display which takes place in the Bay directly adjacent to Norton’s and the Angel Inn!  We can’t wait!  Kathy & I wish your family the very best this 4th of July!

A Memorial Day Message From Green Lake

A few years after the end of the Civil War, May 30 was established as “Decoration Day” — a day to decorate veterans’ graves with flowers. May 30 may have been the selected day because flowers would be in bloom throughout the country.

In 1971, Memorial Day was officially declared a national holiday and placed on the last Monday in May.

In December 2000, the president signed into law The National Moment of Remembrance Act.

“The National Moment of Remembrance encourages all Americans to pause wherever they are at 3 p.m. local time on Memorial Day for a minute of silence to remember and honor those who have died in service to the nation.”

Please join us today in saying a prayer for the veterans and their families who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Angel Inn, Green Lake WI – a cool place on a hot summer weekend!

With temperatures reaching the 90’s this weekend, people are flocking to Wisconsin lakes to escape the heat! This morning Angel Inn guests strolled a few short steps down to the boathouse deck to enjoy the cool lake breeze while enjoying one of Kathy’s fabulous breakfasts. Choices this morning included fresh fruit and a lemon poppy seed coffee cake, along with the main breakfast entrees of door county cherry French toast and egg croissant with Havarti dill cheese & granny smith apple

If you’re looking for a getaway to beat the heat this summer – consider Angel Inn Bed & Breakfast for your Green Lake lodging needs. Stay Cool!
